Admission to Doctoral Candidacy
Ph.D. students are expected to be admitted to candidacy by the spring semester of their third year (fourth year for DPhD students). After the DGS has approved the dissertation proposal, the student must request to the Art History office to file a doctoral candidacy form by the corresponding deadline (consult the Graduate College’s calendar for specific date). To meet the mid-February deadline set by the Graduate College for spring admission to candidacy, the student must submit the names of all the dissertation committee members at least two weeks earlier, so that the doctoral candidacy form can be routed for their signatures.
Application for Advanced Degrees (application to graduate)
After completing all the requirements for the degree, Master’s and doctoral students must contact the Art History office to file an Application for Advance Degree form by the corresponding deadline set by the Graduate College (consult the Graduate College’s calendar for specific date).
